6.3 Data Object Highlighting Mode

Report Authority has a number of different Data Object Highlighting Modes which can be toggled in the View ribbon:

Tag Period

This mode indicates a data object’s period. The period of a data object is important as it drives the XBRL period context for tagged data objects and determines which data is retrieved for data adaptors that utilise the mapping tables (such as Oracle HFM, Essbase or OneStream).

Tag Period is the default mode and indicates the data object’s period for data objects that have been tagged and those that are automated using external data adaptors.

Adaptor Type

In this mode, the colour of a data object will indicate what its data adaptor is set to.

The colours per adaptor are:

  • Manual - Grey
  • Report variable - Cyan
  • Calculation - Orange
  • Microsoft Excel - Green
  • Oracle HFM - Red
  • Oracle Essbase - Purple
  • Oracle Netsuite - Dark Blue
  • OneStream - Light Blue

Accounting Balance

In this mode, the accounting balance of XBRL tagged data objects is displayed.

This takes into account the balance attribute of the specific XBRL tag defined in the taxonomy, the signage of the fact, and whether or not the reverse signage convention flag is set to true.  Since a data object can have more than one tag, the colour represents an aggregated view.

  • Debit - Green
  • Credit - Blue
  • Mixed or not applicable - Red
  • No balance attribute - Grey
