10.3.2 Microsoft Excel - Cell Address
The Excel – Cell Address adaptor is a useful adaptor for retrieving a value from a known Excel cell address. All that is needed is the
- connection,
- the worksheet name, and
- the cell address.
Automation panel
Report Authority will list all the connections to spreadsheets defined in the Manage Connections dialog:
An Excel connection can be dragged from the automation panel and dropped on the report. If dropped onto an existing data object, its adaptor will change to reference the Excel connection. Once dropped, the Excel Cell Reference Data Adaptor form will appear:
The data adaptor value displays the value currently retrieved by the adaptor and the Source value the current value of the data object. Clicking OK will set the Source value equal to the Data adaptor value. The worksheet name dropdown list will list all sheets found in the workbook as defined by the connection.
Value Editor
An Excel – Cell reference adaptor can be assigned or changed using the Adaptor control in the value panel:
