Primary Tags Panel - Core Taxonomy and Extended Taxonomy

(This article applies only to documents with a taxonomy loaded that requires taxonomy extensions, such as ESMA's ESEF Taxonomy)

When a taxonomy is required to be extended, Report Authority will present two separate hierarchies in the Primary Tags panel:

  1. Core Taxonomy
  2. Extended Taxonomy

Core Taxonomy

The Core Taxonomy tab presents the core taxonomy that your extended taxonomy will reference.  This tab is useful when tagging the document and all tags used from this Core Taxonomy tab will automatically be added to Extended Taxonomy tab (in the taxonomy section defined in the Currently Tagging combobox).

Extended Taxonomy

The Extended Taxonomy tab presents your company's extended taxonomy's presentation (with the exception of any unused tags which will not be exported to avoid breaking filing rules prohibiting the presence of unused tags).

Tags that are used from the Core Taxonomy tab will be automatically inserted into your Extended Taxonomy (in the taxonomy section defined in the Currently Tagging combobox).  Furthermore, new extended tags can be created and anchored using the Add Tag button in the toolbar.

Re-ordering / Nesting of tags

Tags in the Extended Taxonomy tab can be reordered or nested by dragging and dropping them within the treeview.  Tags can also be moved from one taxonomy section to another.  Please note that moving a tag out of one section into another might impact the calculation hierarchy of both taxonomy sections.
