7.2 Configuring a Report Template
To begin setting up your report:
Click the Configure button to open the Configure Report Template form.
1. Set the Root Element
- Navigate to the desired schema element in the interface.
- Click Set to define it as the root element for report generation.
- You can change this later by selecting a different element and clicking Set again.
2. Import a Report Template
- Click Import… to import a Word template (*.docx format).
- The template will be embedded into the project file (*.xad), so no external link is needed after importing.
Once imported:
- A table will display all detected elements in the template.
- It will show whether each is an individual item or a table, and whether the value or its annotation will appear in the final report.
To make changes to your template:
- Click Export Report Template to save and edit the template locally.
- After editing, reload it by clicking Import… again.
To remove the current template:
- Click Delete Report Template.
3. Define the Report File Name
- Use the optional Report Name Pattern field to customise how each file is named.
- You can insert element tags like
{FirstName}{LastName} - {TIN}
to personalise filenames. - After making changes, feedback about the pattern and any errors will be shown below.
