1.1 Introduction to Report Authority

Report Authority is a word processing environment for combining numeric information with textual commentary into free flowing documents such as financial statements, board reports and other financial reports.

Report Authority simplifies the collation and navigation of reports through the use of outlining functionality. The outline function allows you to break reports down into segments which are grouped into folders and subfolders, that you can arrange and manage according to your needs.

Report Authority can calculate the text, date or numeric values of report objects based on the values of other objects without introducing rounding errors. You are able to create validation rules that are run before creating your desired reporting output to ensure reporting accuracy.

XBRL & iXBRL instance documents can be created through the use of Report Authority’s XBRL tagging functionality.

Content can be linked to external data sources such as Microsoft Excel and Oracle EPM (HFM and Essbase), and reports can be exported into many different formats such as Word, PDF, XBRL or iXBRL.

Once a report is created it can be used as a template or rolled forward to the next period.
