The primary tags section of the XBRL Tags ribbon bar contains the following controls:

Table of primary tags

This table lists all the tags in all of the selected tag anchors. By default, all tags will be selected.
Any changes to any of the attributes will be applied to all the selected tags in this table. To modify the attributes of specific tags, multi-select the tags buy holding ctrl when selecting the relevant tag(s) to be edited.

Delete Tag(s)

This button deletes the tags selected in the table.

Create Group (Tuple)

This button is used to create groupings (or tuples) of tags by inserting the selected tags into a specific tuple.  First, select the tuple parent in the Primary Tags panel, then select the tags to be inserted into the tuple in the Primary Tags table and click Create Group.

The use of tuples in taxonomy building has diminished in favour of using custom secondary tags.

Delete Group (Tuple)

This button will delete the selected group.

Secondary Tags

The secondary tags section of the “XBRL Tags” ribbon displays the common secondary tags applied to all of the selected primary tags. To edit the secondary tags, click the drop-down arrow:

Select Apply Changes to save any changes to secondary tags.

You can add secondary tags to multiple tags by using this control. E.g. If an entire column in a table requires the same secondary tag(s), select all tags and add them once, rather than adding them to each and every tag action.

Note Report Authority will only display the hypercubes that are common to all primary tags selected in the Primary Tags table to prevent invalid assignment of secondary tags to primary tags. This may, therefore, result in a blank form, even though each tag individually are linked to hypercubes.
