Importing a schema
If the schema you require is not in the schema library, a schema can be imported into the XML Authority document on creation.
Schemas usually have the file extension of *.xsd, but on rare occasions may contain on *.xml extension.
To import a schema, click the "Import Schema..." button.
Once imported, user schemas are located in the User Schemas section of the schema library.
Schemas that import other schemas
Often schemas refer to (or "import") other schemas. These are typically type definitions which are shared with other schemas such as ISO codes as an example. In these cases, you will need all referenced schemas in the same folder as the "entry" schema in order for the schema to be successfully imported.
If any referenced schemas are missing, you will get an error message similar to the one below:
